Hi and welcome to
Preemie
Parenting; a place created
for parents and
loved ones of premature infants, and women experiencing a high
risk or complicated pregnancy. This site is devoted to supplying you with
information, support and resources. After the birth of my son I looked for information about prematurity. I desperately wanted to hear how other parents of preemies dealt with the constant inevitable roller coaster of emotions and the one-step-forward-five-steps-back scenarios of preemie parenting. In general, my search did not turn up much. At the time of his birth I was not on the Internet so my sources were limited. I did find some medical information, but I wanted more. Recently I teamed up with Kim Powell, mom to Senia, a 28 weeker, and together we compiled, co-wrote and edited LIVING MIRACLES: Stories of Hope from Parents of Premature Babies (St. Martin's Press, April 2000 & August 2001). My goal is to offer hope, inspiration, support and resources via Preemie Parenting and LIVING MIRACLES. I don't want parents to struggle to find information and feel like I did...alone. Today, thanks to technology we are very fortunate as there are several great preemie Web sites on the Net. I've posted links to many of them here on Preemie Parenting. Please stop back often, as this will constantly be a work in progress and updated frequently. Thanks for visiting and don't forget to bookmark this site. Believe in Miracles. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and family members of the September 11 terrorist attacks. I personally want to thank all the Firefighters, Police Officers, EMS and Rescue Workers. Your bravery and commitment to duty is second to none. Let us never forget the sacrifices made and always remember FREEDOM is not FREE. May God bless all of you and...God Bless America!
